This was a new location that I had recently scouted out. My first shoot here. Wasn't overly happy with the conditions (sunrise and surf), but not bad for a first attempt.
I haven't seen anybody else photograph this particular rock formation, so I've decided to call it the Devils Cauldron because of the ferociousness of the waves as they pound into this gorge. When you stand on the edge and watch a huge wave come in you would swear you are going to get drenched or swept away, but the rock shapes allow you to stand right on the edge with water flying everywhere and not get wet. Very exhilarating. |
